The BBQ was real beef, real chicken, real lamb, and real pork. I don't think the pork ribs ever got cooked, but some brauts were cooked and enjoyed.
The best part was cutting into a steak that was actually medium rare and juicy. DFAC steaks are all cooked well done at a minimum. On the other hand, DFAC BBQ pork tends to be fantastic, go figure.
I do believe that attempting to serve someone fake meat in a war zone is internationally recognized as justifiable homicide.

As long as the BBQ is real beef or real chicken. (BBQ made of fake pork, OTOH, is mentioned in the Geneva Accords as a war crime...)
