Bagram outdoes New York City!

The current version of the "Fire Safety Manual" specifically bans "smoking while walking around". Presumably none of the "authorized smoking areas" are large enough to accomodate walking around. I would just love to see the poor MP explain this to one of the teamsters driving their big forklifts around base smoking cigars. I could care less, but the rule is not entirely unreasonable because it's darn near impossible to walk any reasonable distance without coming within 50 feet of a fuel tank for a generator or a fuel truck refeuling all of the generators, lights, bathroom/shower water heaters, etc.

You'd think they'd wonder why they have such a thriving black market in Alcohol on base, but some people seem to prefer sticking their heads in the sand and pretending prohibitions work.
